Fur Council of Canada Publicity Blitz to Launch “Fur Month”
MONTREAL: The theme of this November’s “Fur Month in Canada” is In the Mood for Fur. And to help consumers get “in the mood”, the Fur Council of Canada is producing a million-dollar advertising campaign that will include billboards, cinemas, magazines and more!
“The centerpiece for our program is a spectacular 8-page section in the November (VH-1 Awards) issue of Vogue,” said FCC executive vice-president Alan Herscovici. “This will be complemented by pages in Elle (USA, Canada and Quebec), Robb Report, Fashion, NUVO and other publications.
“Our In the Mood slogan, CanadaFur.com signature and generic photography from our Vogue section, will be repeated on more than 100 billboards and before all shows in more than 90 cinema complexes across Canada,” said Herscovici.
Montreal NAFFEM Fur Trends books, new FurWorksCanada brochures and complete sets of the Fur Council’s new consumer-information materials are also being sent to retailers across Canada and the United States. The new materials include a Perspex display case with four attractive cards providing information about wild and farmed furs, the fur trade, and consumer tips about choosing and caring for fur.
“Our Fur Month campaign reflects the Fur Council’s three-pronged strategy to encourage innovative design, to promote our new fashion look and to reassure consumers that fur is one of the most natural, sustainable and ecological products you can wear,” said FCC president Paula Lishman. “Our goal is to produce fur for everyone, and to get everyone in fur!”
The Fur Council of Canada is the national, non-profit association representing some 80,000 Canadians working in every sector of the trade. The fur trade contributes $800 million to the Canadian economy, including more than $300 million in exports.
