Outstanding Results Continue Throughout the Female and Mutation Collections

Day two of the American Legend May 2011 auction saw the continuation of increasing prices, as the 320 buyers in attendance pushed levels to new season highs.

Blackglama females sold 100% at levels that advanced 10% over the American Legend March 2011 sale. Korea led the buying, with all markets offering additional support. The Mahogany female collection also advanced 5-10%, with widespread buying from all major markets. The remainder of the collection sold at firm to increasing levels, as Hong Kong/ China led the way. The unique American Legend Marble mink achieved the highest price during the day, selling for an impressive $140.03 labeled male average and $108.43 labeled female average.

The top lot of Blackglama females was purchased by Mechutan Fur Corp. for Tsoukas Bros. & Sons, Kastoria, Greece, and was produced by Jason Mullen of Weymouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The top lot of American Legend Mahogany females was purchased by Klondike Intl. for Fur Centre, St. Louis, MO, and was produced by The Becksteads of Lehi, Utah, and Weston, Idaho.

The top lot of American Legend Ranch Wild females was purchased by Hurwitz Exports Ltd. for Avanti Furs S.A., Kastoria, Greece, and was produced by Dogwood Fur Farm of Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada.

The top lot of American Legend Blue Iris males was purchased by Dragon Wan for Golden Lady, China, and was produced by Masog ñ L. Slack & Sons of Lebanon, Oregon.

The top lot of American Legend Blue Iris females was purchased by Alex Tarantola for Mr. Leng Ren Yi of Yi Fei Na Fur Company and was produced by Masog ñ L. Slack & Sons of Lebanon, Oregon.

The top lot of American Legend Pearl males was purchased by Mich Hatzis for PKZ Furs, Kastoria, Greece, and was produced by Gengel Mink Farm of Lake Villa, Illinois.

The top lot of American Legend Pearl females was purchased by Klondike Intl. for William Harris, Rhode Island, and was produced by Gengel Mink Farm of Lake Villa, Illinois.

The top lot of American Legend White males was purchased by Dragon Wan for Jin Bao Lai Fur, China, and was produced by Gengel Mink Farm of Lake Villa, Illinois.

The top lot of American Legend White females was purchased by Dragon Wan for Mei Lanjia Dan Fur, China, and was produced by Gengel Mink Farm of Lake Villa, Illinois.

The sale concludes tomorrow with the Section III offering of both males and females.
