NORTH AMERICAN FUR AUCTIONS ANNOUNCEMENT, AUGUST 20, 1999
North American Fur Auctions Announces Leonard Werner Scholarship
Upon the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of NAFA’s former chairman and founder, Leonard Werner, the North American Fur Auctions have announced a new Leonard Werner Scholarship. This scholarship is in memory of Leonard Werner and in recognition of the importance he attached to education and training. The scholarship will make it possible for candidates to pursue a university or college program in North America.
Altogether there will be four scholarships to a value of $2,500 each. They will be open to all children of customers and employees of the NAFA in North America.
Leonard’s wife, Tama, and his three children Isanna, Zack, and Alan will be involved each year in the process of selection, which will focus on academic achievements, extra-curricular involvement, community involvement and leadership capabilities.
Completed application forms along with all documents required should be submitted no later than September 15, 1999. Scholarship winners will be notified and an announcement issued by September 30, 1999.
