2005 Leonard Werner Memorial Scholarship Recipients

North American Fur Auctions is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2005 Leonard Werner memorial Scholarship. This is the sixth year the scholarships have been awarded, in memory of our former Chairman and founder, Leonard Werner. Eligible participants must be a child or grandchild of a NAFA customer or employee in North America. The scholarship program has been expanded in 2005 to provide eight scholarships of $1,250 US each.

Following are the recipients of the 2005 Leonard Werner Memorial Scholarships:

Nadine Sager: Nadine is the daughter of Neil Sager, a wild fur shipper from Wawa, Ontario. She graduated from Michipicoten High School and is attending the University of Guelph to become a Veterinarian.

Mallory Wood: Mallory is the daughter of Laurie Wood, a mink rancher from Nova Scotia. Mallory graduated from Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School and is attending Saint Mary's University is Halifax where she is studying to be a teacher.

Holly Liske: The granddaughter of Len Holmes, a mink rancher from Medford, Wisconsin, Holly is enrolled at the University of Wisconsin in Sciences and hopes to someday become an orthopedic surgeon.

Ryan Denomme: Ryan is the grandson of Eric Chuter, a mink rancher from Varna, Ontario. Ryan is attending the University of Waterloo in the faculty of Engineering, where he will be studying nanotechnology engineering.

Daniel Rankin: Daniel is the son of Kirk Rankin, a mink rancher from St. Mary's, Ontario. Dan is studying English at eh University of Western Ontario and is interested in pursuing Journalism in the future.

Krista Odger: The daughter of Dane Codger, a Senior for Technician at NAFA's Toronto office, Krista is at the University of Waterloo in the Honors Mathematics Co=op program and would like to become a math teacher when she graduates.

Brianna Cooper: Brianna is the daughter of Shan Cooper, Executive Assistant at NAFA's Toronto office. Brianna is attending Wildfrid Laurier University, enrolled in the Honors BA Organizational Leadership program.

Roshel Brown: Roshel is the daughter of Locksley Martin, who works at NAFA's Toronto warehouse. Roshel is attending the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
