Billings, MT: Montana Agri-Women (MAW) is excited to announce that the 28th annual American Agri-Women National Convention will be held in Billings, Montana Nov. 6-8, 2003 at the Historic Northern Hotel.
Mountains of Opportunity will offer a multitude of information affecting today's agriculture industry to women from Montana and across the country. Along with taking part in grass roots policy setting, attendees will hear from influential speakers, learn about Montana agriculture and have the opportunity to share area specific issues and concerns at a Town Hall Meeting.
American Agri-Women, a national coalition of farm, ranch and agri-business women's organizations, works to promote agriculture to the American consumer. Attendees will work on a variety of issues including education, business, economics, legislation, natural resources, commodities and public understanding and awareness.
With a powerful list of speakers, attendees will take home a better understanding of the happening in the different segments of such a complex industry. They'll hear from Bruce Vincent about the timber industry, Gary Broyles, Past President of the National Association of Wheat Growers and JoAnn Emerson, United States Representative from Missouri, just to name a few.
Other convention attractions will include a Make It With Wool style show as well as appearances by Miss Rodeo Montana Lori Dodge and Montana's own Ringling 5.
According to AAW Vice President of Communications and past Montana Agri-Women President Karen Yost of Billings, "The American Agri-Women Convention is unique in the fact that the women who attend find a real sense of belonging and form lasting friendships with other women involved in this industry across the country. It also helps to develop an appreciation for other commodities and how we're all affected by the same issues."
