FUR COMMISSION USA PRESS RELEASE, NOVEMBER 21, 2002

Keep Clicking Those Polls! CNN Fans Endorse Fur

IN CONJUNCTION with an Oct. 29 article on designer Stella McCartney's well-known views about fur, CNN launched an on-line poll asking simply, "Would you wear fur clothing?" Despite the best efforts of at least one major animal rights group to swing the vote, fur fans prevailed by taking 64%. 4,756 votes were cast in total.

Such informal polls don't carry the weight of scientific surveys by Gallup and the like, but they do influence other respondents, not to mention reporters - in this case at CNN - the next time they cover the story. So if you come across other polls asking you to choose between a natural, sustainable lifestyle in which freedom of choice matters, or one based on plastic and soya beans, stand up and be counted!

If your clicking finger is already itching, visit Man In Nature where a poll will run through the winter on which clothing material is the least environment-friendly: cotton, wool, fur, synthetics or leather.
