New Honorary President and IFTF Executive Board for 2005-07 Announced

New Honorary President and IFTF Executive Board for 2005-07 Announced
More than 53 international delegates, representing 23 different countries, attended the International Fur Trade Federation’s 56th Annual General Meeting in Helsinki on Monday 19th September.
Simon Reiss officially retired from his position as IFTF Honorary President following eight years in the post. In recognition of his long and close involvement with IFTF, he was made an Honorary Life Member of the Federation. The Council elected Norberto Albertalli (Italy) as the new Honorary President. Albertalli joined the IFTF Board in 1989 and has been very actively involved in the work of the IFTF.
The eleven elected members of the Executive Board for 2005 – 2007 were announced, confirming the ballot election that had taken place during the summer. Roberto Scarpella (Italy) joins the Board as a new member.
The four standing members, nominated by the four largest auction houses in the IFTF Levy Scheme, were also reported.
The new board has re-elected Andreas Lenhart (Germany) as IFTF Chairman, David Morgan (UK) as Vice-Chairman and Pirkko Rantanen-Kervinen (Finland) as Treasurer.
Commenting on the meetings, Andreas Lenhart said: “We have had an extremely busy year with many new initiatives bearing fruit and we take confidence from this. But we must continue to actively work together to promote our trade, and this is why opportunities to meet and share ideas with our colleagues are so important. I would like to thank all our international delegates who have taken the time to attend this meeting.”
For the two-year period 2005-07, the Executive Board will comprise:

Pirkko Rantanen-Kervinen (Finland), Treasurer;
Ivan Benjamin (Switzerland);
Timothy Everest (Hong Kong);

Roberto Scarpella (Italy);
Allen Soifer (USA);
Bruce Williams (Canada);
Ren-Yong Zhu (China);
Edward F Brennan (American Legend Auctions);
Herman Jansen (North American Fur Producers Marketing Inc.)
Torben Nielsen (Kopenhagen Fur).
The AGM appointed the following as Federation Honorary Officers for 2005-2007:
Norberto Albertalli (Honorary President);
Ulf Enroth (Honorary Vice-President);
Erik Hansen (Honorary Vice-President)
Henry Sun (Honorary Vice-President).
