Beijing Fur & Leather Fair rated success
THE RECENT BEIJING FUR & LEATHER FAIR was rated as successful and reflecting the rapid expansion of the country’s industry. This was the 36th edition of the annual event and the biggest ever, having relocated to the Beijing National Conference Center where it occupied over 300,000 square feet of space, about 12% larger than last year’s show. It also was in sharp contrast to last year’s fair, which was affected by the financial crisis and uncertainty regarding fur prices. With skin prices having taking a positive upward track, buyers this year were able to move more confidently.
There were more exhibitors at this year’s show – 300 versus 290 – and it pulled a total of nearly 12,000 visitors, also an increase. It now ranks among the top three international fur fairs in terms of size, second only to Hong Kong, but larger than the Milan show.
